Our Medical Professionals have been chosen for their dedication and caring attitude towards patients and their families in our local community.
Below are backgrounds of our Doctors and Nursing staff in our practice


Dr Lesley Dunkley has worked in general practice since 1987 and at Valentine Family Medical Practice since 1988.  She has completed post-graduate training in Family Planning, Antenatal Care and Melanoma Detection. She is a Member of the Australian Menopause Society and keenly interested in all aspects of general practice.

Dr Tim Burt

Dr Tim Burt graduated from Sydney University in Medicine in 1977.  He has done emergency medicine and orthopaedics and was awarded membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1985.  He has done a PhD on a neurological condition.  Dr Burt joined our practice in 1996 and is interested in preventive medicine and early diagnosis of diseases.

Dr Shyam Gurudoss

Dr Shyam Gurudoss completed his GP Training through the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine. He has been a practising GP since 2013. Prior to commencing his GP training he worked in Intensive Care and adult internal medicine. He has a special interest in Mental Health, Palliative Care and minor procedures.

Dr Robyn Fried

Dr Robyn Fried completed her General Practice training through RACGP and has worked in general practice since 1988. She joined this practice in 1996 and has also completed post-graduate courses in Paediatrics, Family Planning, Melanoma, Sports Medicine and Antenatal Care. Robyn is a member of the Menopause Society and also offers her servicesto the Sexual Assault Service.

Dr Beth Fraser

Dr Beth Fraser has worked in general practice since 1985 and enjoys non-procedural general practice with special interests in women’s health and preventative health care. She joined our practice in 2016, after having been working at Wallsend since 1996.

GP Registrar

GP Registrar – Valentine Family Medical Practice is a proud training practice and at times we will have a GP Registrar working here for a period of 6 months to gain valuable knowledge in General Practice.

Practice Nurses

The Valentine Family Medical Practice now employs five practice nurses. Our nursing team includes  Louise McKelligott, Julie Parkinson,
Leonie McGlynn, Penny Thwaite and Jessica Nash.

Practice nurse hours are 9.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Their role includes administering vaccinations, doing ECGs, health assessments, diabetic assessments, chronic disease management and assisting with procedures.
